The Arc of Bismarck offers a variety of services to individuals with disabilities, their families and the public.  Programs and services benefit communities across North Dakota not only by increasing overall  disability awareness, but also because these services and supports combine elements of education and advocacy to empower individuals with disabilities to learn and grow individually, all while promoting inclusion in the community.

Available Services:

Joyce, program coordinator provides information on area services.



Information and Referral
Trained professionals assist individuals with disabilities and their families in getting connected with appropriate community resources.






Legislators and advocates working together to improve the quality of life for North Dakotan's.



Individual and Systems Advocacy
Through an organized effort, The Arc of Bismarck provides advocacy regarding the rights of people with disabilities and their families.






Providing legislative testimony on disability related legislation.

The Arc tracks and monitors disability related legislation and provides written and/or oral testimony.

Supporting community living for people with disabilities.


Community Living Program
This program is designed to assist people with disabilities who are looking to transition out of an institutional setting and into the community by providing them with a voucher that can be used at our Thrift Store.





Learning skills for advocacy at Partners in Policymaking.

Partners in Policymaking
Partners offers adults with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities an opportunity to acquire the tools needed to attain leadership roles and to be effective advocates within their communities.





Fundraising at American People's bakesale.


American People Self-Advocacy Association
American People is a self-advocacy organization run by and for people with disabilities. The Arc supports this group and serves as the group's advisor.






Mapping futures for success at a community education event.
Community Education Workshops
The Arc offers education forums around the state; topics are varied, but always have a disability focus.  Disability awareness trainings and community outreach are an integral part of educating people in the community about disabilities, increasing awareness and promoting community inclusion.  These workshops provide information, resources and networking opportunities for people with disabilities and family members.
